Easter Egg Lamb Cuteness

Have you ever made a layout by using a grid that you made?
For my project today, I am going to show you how.

I used two different files from Kadoodle Bug Designs, some
basic shapes and some other things from Cricut Design Space.
The KDB files that I used are
(any sun would work but I liked this one and I already had the file).

Instructions:

  1. Insert one square size 11.5". Duplicate it.
  2. Insert another shape that you want to use to make the grid. I started out with squares and made some into rectangles. Make sure the big initial square and the other shapes you use are different colors.
  3. Lay them on top of your big square. These will become the cut out places in your grid.
  4. Once you have them laid out where you want them, slice them into the big square. Make sure slice them out after you have them all where you want them in case you need to move them.
  5. Discard the sliced out pieces
  6. I chose different simple images from Cricut Design Space to add other shapes to the grid. You will only need the bottom piece of the image chosen so ungroup it and discard the rest of it.
  7. The base piece is what you will need for the KBD file so ungroup and then duplicate the base piece (it's usually grey.)
  8. Duplicate all the pieces you plan to weld to the gride. This is necessary so they will be the same size when you decorate them with the other pieces (the color ones). Don't change the sizes of the files one you have the welded as they would line up correctly.
  9. Place those pieces where you want them in the grid. I used the base piece (Easter Egg Lamb), words happy and easter, text 2018, egg shape, bunny shape, and a sentiment from a card that I stretch out tall. They will need to touch the grid.
  10. Select the grid and the shape (one at a time) and weld them together. You will add their pieces.
  11. Glue grid onto 12 x 12 piece of cardstock.
  12. Assemble the color pieces onto the grid.
  13. Embellish and add photos and journaling.

Shoptastic Cuties - Party Present Cutie Birthday Card

Happy Saturday Doodle Bug Fans,

Today I would like to share with you a birthday card I made KaDoodle Bug Designs Shoptastic Cuties - Party Present Cutie file.

I used the the jpg file to print and cut this present out with my Silhouette Cameo.  Accented with Wink of Stella glitter pens and Gelly Roll pens.

Of course I had to put this little cutie on a action wobble.

The file I used can be found by clicking HERE.

You're the BOMB!

Today I made another shape card set using the file:

Instructions:
Ungroup the pieces
Duplicate the base piece
Move the duplicated piece away from the other pieces
Duplicate it again
Flip that piece
Insert a square that you have turned to a rectangle
With the duplicated pieces, move them a bit apart so when they are folded on to each other, they can do so freely without their sides folding over the other (See the picture of the part circled blue).
Weld the rectangle to the duplicated pieces.
Insert and attach a score line vertically in the center of the newly formed piece.
Fold in half at the scoreline.
Glue pieces to the folded piece.

This can be applied to any file you wish to use.

Love You to Pizza's Valentine's Card

Happy Sunday Doodle Bugs,

Have you ever been in a position that you need to create a card fast and don't have time to cut all the pieces of the file out, ink them and put them all together.   Well that's one nice thing about the KBD because the files you purchase or get from the "Freebie of the Week", you not only get a SVG file but you also get jpg files of all the images which you can print and then cut them out fairly easily and quickly

I was in that position last week.  I was crazy busy at work so when I get home I was just too tired to spend a lot of time on making a Valentine's Day card for my hubby.   I knew I had to use the KBD Love you to Pizza's file because we both love pizza and almost have it once a week.

So I used my Silhouette Cameo to print and cut the adorable pizza and title from this file.

To use the jpg, I open it in my Silhouette Design Studio software, trace it using the tracing tool and then crop it to remove the white background.   I then offset it to put a little white border around the image select to cut that offset line, group the image and the offset line.  I then changing my cutting format to Print and Cut and print on my printer.  After it prints, I put it on my mat and cut it out on my Cameo.

I accented him with white Gelly Roll pen and I accented the title with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen.    Used a deep red card stock for the base of the card, stripped paper for the mat and used a die cut to cut out the polka dotted mat.   Added the title and pizza and I was done.

Easy Peasy and here is my finished card.

Oh and I had to put him on an Action Wobble.
Had to make it dance with happy love.

Hubby got a chuckle out of this card and I hope you did too.
